Crohn's disease
Early Insight Imaging for Crohn's disease Risk Assessment
Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease that most commonly affects the end of the small bowel (known as the terminal ileum). It can affect regions of the gastrointestinal tract anywhere from mouth to anus, and is best assessed by direct visualization (ie endoscopy or colonoscopy). In the bowel, it can cause inflammation and ulceration of the bowel wall which can lead to a fistula, where two sections of bowel can join onto each other. There is no apparent cause and no definitive cure, but there are numerous symptom management options available. Please note that the large bowel (colon) and the upperGI system (esophagus to duodenum) are best assessed by endoscopy or colonoscopy, as the EverVita scan will identify conditions late in the disease process.

About the treatment
Advanced imaging allows physicians to look for early indicators connected to Crohn's disease, even before symptoms appear. By capturing detailed soft tissue contrast and anatomical structure, MRI can highlight early abnormalities or risk patterns that warrant closer observation. Establishing a clear baseline helps guide future comparisons and preventative care strategies.
